The Outlaw
I already liked this movie so i didn't think that it could be beter except for l3 of course.
Going in to this edit edit i had no idea what i was a gonna see. Turn out i really dig this edit. The removing of the beginning was in my opinion a great change because it ands pretty much noting to the plot. I also liked how you referenced the OG trilogy. And finally L3 giving her no voice was a amazing choice but sometimes the sounds of R2D2 dont quite work. Some of the transitions dont work but most of the time they do. Overall a really good edit. With some minor flaws

"The Outlaw"

Unfortunately, my overall opinion of this edit is that it is less satisfying than the original. This is mostly due to cutting out the beginning, which sets up the Han/Qi'ra romance (the heart of the story, in my opinion). There were also some lines and bits of action removed here and there that I would have liked to see retained. However, I did like the idea of removing L3-37's annoying personality, although I found that the execution unfortunately wasn't done well on a technical level.

In its current state (taking technical issues into account), I'll give the edit 5/10.

I was able to spot the following technical errors (times are approximate, some may be a second or two off):

00:40 - I think that it was a mistake to add original trilogy references to the opening crawl. This movie should play out as it if it is the first time that we've seen Han Solo. There are also several spelling and punctuation errors throughout the crawl (a lack of periods at the end of sentences, and a mispelling of the word "disobeyed).

01:23 - The edit from the opening crawl to Han's trial feels abrupt, including the audio.

04:53 - A noticeable edit.

13:02 - A noticeable visual jumpcut from "This kid's growing on me" to "We can always use some more muscle on a job like this."

17:00 - The cut to the flashback is incredibly noticeable and jarring, as is the cut back to the campfire scene. Also, the little snippet of a flashback shown isn't enough to properly introduce Qi'ra or get us invested in her or Han's relationship with her.

18:41 - The wipe transition feels a bit too abrupt.

39:05 - Noticeable cut during Qi'ra's dialogue.

40:23 - Jarring and noticeable transition.

40:33 - The wipe transition feels abrupt and jarring.

47:27 - Noticeable cut.

47:37 - Noticeable cut.

47:40 - Added beeps sound slightly dubbed in and there's a noticeable visual cut.

47:46 - Added beeps sound very dubbed in.

47:53 - Ditto.

47:56 - Ditto again, then an abrupt-feeling wipe transition.

49:40 - I'm not sure about the wipe transition. It seems slightly abrupt to me, but I'm not sure.

50:42 - The beeps sound distractingly dubbed-in.

50:48 - Ditto.

50:53 - Same again.

50:57 - Yet again.

51:10 - Once more.

52:06 - A noticeable cut.

52:08 - This cut seems a bit abrupt.

54:46 - Distracingly noticeable dubbed-in beeps again.

55:01 - Same again.

57:36 - Yet again.

57:43 - L3-37's "Mm-hmn" is left in, which doesn't fit with the beeping that you have dubbed in for her elsewhere.

57:47 - 57:48 - Two jarring cuts in quick succession.

57:51 - A distractingly abrupt fade.

58:00 - A jarring cut.

58:20 - The added beeps are better than most of the others, but still sound a bit dubbed-in. As usual, there's a noticeable audio edit when they end (this applies to most previously-mentioned instances of noticeably dubbed-in beeps.)

59:26 - Bits of the beeps sound dubbed-in, although parts sound pretty natural.

59:42 - Distractingly abrupt wipe transition that even slightly cuts off Beckett's line.

59:52 - Noticeably dubbed-in beeps.

59:56 - Ditto, and the issue continues with multiple instances of added beeps for quite a few seconds.

1:00:16 - Same issue again.

1:00:21 - Yet again.

1:00:39 - And again.

1:00:12 - Yet again.

1:03:34 - This cut feels very adrupt. The wipe transition to Lando previously before is sort of borderline - it seems fairly all right, but maybe a bit abrupt.

1:03:38 - A Distractingly noticeable fade to piece two pieces of footage together.

1:05:43 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:06:24 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:06:45 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:06:53 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:06:55 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:07:21 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:08:26 - The cut from Qi'ra's line to the TIE fighters is noticeable. The cut from said TIE fighters to Lando's line afterward is also noticeable.

1:09:07 - A noticeable cut.

1:09:55 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:10:44 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:10:52 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:12:06 - A slightly noticeable cut.

1:12:11 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:12:18 - Slightly noticeable fade.

1:13:01 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:13:39 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:15:48 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

1:16:49 - Distractingly noticeable fade.

Review: I am going to start with issues and the end with things I liked. The opening text scroll was not written very well, it contains quite a few grammar issues. Transitions are sometimes poorly done. However I do enjoy L3 not being able to speak, it has some humor that is simply implied rather than relying on it being written. However the voice of R2 didn't quite work. It could be done better if you know it had like a budget to redo these scenes with better sounds, but for what it is. I think it does it really well. I do enjoy more than the original.
